Amerikaanse militairen gedood in Amman

AMMAN -Op een politieacademie in de Jordaanse hoofdstad Amman zijn maandag twee Amerikaanse trainers en een Zuid-Afrikaan doodgeschoten door een Jordaanse politieofficier, die zich vervolgens van het leven beroofde. Er zijn volgens persbureau Petra vier Jordaniërs en twee Amerikanen gewond geraakt. Een Jordaanse bewindsman heeft de schietpartij bevestigd, maar kon niets zeggen over het motief van de dader. In Bangladesh, 6 men get death sentences in torture, slayings of 2 boys

INDIA –  Bangladesh courts on Sunday sentenced six men to death in the torturing and killing of two boys earlier this year in two different cases. The judgments handed down against the convicted men came in the northeast city of Sylhet and southeast city of Khulna. Woman perishes after husband reverses off Demerara Harbour Bridge

The lifeless body of a 22-year-old woman was pulled from a submerged canter truck in the Demerara River several hours after it plunged off the Demerara Harbour Bridgeon Sunday . The body of 22-year old Gangadai Persaud was recovered after painstaking efforts by divers who had to brave high tides and strong current to get to it after it got stuck between the two front seats. Persaud, a mother of a 10-month-old baby resided at Lot 4210 Tuschen Housing Scheme, West Coast Demerara (WCD).  Her husband, whose name has been given as Danram Ramdeo Ramlall, 26, managed to free himself while under the water. Relatives post $3M reward for arrest of second suspect in businessman’s murder

It’s been seven months since popular businessman Farouk Ghanie Hamid’s body was found with two stab wounds at the back of his Nandy Park, East Bank Demerara (EBD) home, but police have made no progress in tracking down the second suspect. Police have already charged Floyd Anthony Rammit for the businessman’s murder but they are still to apprehend the second suspect. Determined that the case will not go unsolved, the businessman’s relatives have posted a $3M reward for the arrest and conviction of the other individual, who look his life.
