/abonnement/Perhaps it was an alternative massacre? Kellyanne Conway, a senior counselor to President Trump, appeared to concoct a bogus “massacre” while justifying Trump’s controversial executive order on immigration during a Thursday night interview.

“I bet it’s brand new information to people that President Obama had a six-month ban on the Iraqi refugee program after two Iraqis came here to this country, were radicalized and they were the masterminds behind the Bowling Green massacre,” Conway told MSNBC’s Chris Matthews. “Most people don’t know that because it didn’t get covered.” Social media users were quick to point out that the supposed “massacre” didn’t get any media coverage because it never actually happened.(nydailynews)…[+]

President Trump hung up on Australian leader after blasting refugee deal as exporting ‘next Boston bombers’

President Trump lambasted the leader of Australia over a refugee agreement before asserting “this was the worst call by far” and abruptly hanging up the phone, according senior officials.

During what was supposed to be an hour-long call with Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, Trump complained that he was “going to get killed” politically because of an Obama administration agreement to admit 1,250 refugees living on islands off the north coast of Australia, officials told the Washington Post. Trump apparently also boasted about his Electoral College win and blasted Turnbull for supposedly trying to export the “next Boston bombers.” The hotheaded President aggressively ended the call after 25 minutes, according to officials briefed on the matter.(nydailynews)…[+]

New acting director of ICE tapped by President Trump was once honored for deportations under Obama

The upstate New York native tapped to lead the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement as acting director was honored for deporting nearly a million undocumented immigrants during a three-year span.

President Trump quietly promoted Thomas D. Homan to relieve Daniel Ragsdale of acting director duties since taking over the agency’s top post on Jan. 20. The shuffle was announced without fanfare late Monday as the White House sacked former acting Attorney General Sally Yates for refusing to defend Trump’s travel ban.

Ragsdale oversaw ICE for 10 days as its parent agency – the Department of Homeland Security – struggled to carry out Trump’s executive order preventing travelers from seven banned predominantly Muslim countries from entering the United States.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents detained more than a hundred people at international airports nationwide, sparking a whirlwind of protests and condemnations from U.S. allies.(nydailynews)…[+]
