Trump dumps the man who has announced every presidential inauguration since 1957

President-elect Donald Trump has silenced the famous voice behind presidential inaugurations. Charlie Brotman, who has been the announcer for every presidential inauguration since 1957, will be away from the microphone for Trump’s inauguration Jan. 20 — after the Trump team dumped him. That will make Trump the first President since Dwight Eisenhower whose parade will not be narrated by Brotman.

“I’m disappointed,” Brotman, 89, told the Washington Post last week.(nydailynews)…[+]

Donald Trump blasts Arnold Schwarzenegger over poor ‘Celebrity Apprentice’ ratings

Hasta la vista, Arnie!

President-elect Donald Trump calls Chuck Schumer ‘clown,’ blasts Obamacare in typo-filled tweets

President-elect Donald Trump dismissed his rivals as clowns — but he still hasn’t figured out proper grammar.

In yet another series of typo-filled tweets Thursday, Trump blasted the Affordable Care Act and the Democrats’ promise to salvage the healthcare plan, which the Republican businessman has vowed to repeal.  He also bullied soon-to-be Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer with name-calling taunts.

“The Democrats, lead by head clown Chuck Schumer, know how bad ObamaCare is and what a mess they are in,” he tweeted early Thursday, likely meaning to write “led” instead of “lead.” A second tweet continued: “Instead of working to fix it, they do the typical political thing and BLAME. The fact is ObamaCare was a lie from the beginning.”(nydailynews)…[+]

Israeli soldier convicted of manslaughter in shooting death of wounded Palestinian man

TEL AVIV, Israel — An Israeli soldier was convicted of manslaughter on Wednesday in the deadly shooting of an incapacitated Palestinian attacker, capping a nine-month saga that has deeply divided the country.

The verdict, which marks an extremely rare instance of an Israeli military court siding against a soldier over lethal action taken in the field, threatened to deepen the rift. Military commanders have condemned the soldier’s conduct, while much of the public, along with leading members of the nationalist ruling coalition, have rallied behind him.

Sgt. Elor Azaria, an army medic, was caught on a cellphone video fatally shooting a wounded Palestinian attacker who had stabbed a soldier in the West Bank city of Hebron in March. The Palestinian was lying motionless on the ground when Azaria shot him in the head. In a verdict that stretched nearly three hours, Col. Maya Heller, head of the three-judge panel, painstakingly rejected all of Azaria’s defense arguments. She said there was no evidence to support his claim that the attacker was already dead or that the man posed any threat at the time.(nydailynews)…[+]
