Trump campaign says former Bill Clinton mistress Gennifer Flowers won’t attend presidential debate

The mistress will be missing out after all.

One day after Donald Trump threatened to put Gennifer Flowers in the front row at Monday’s presidential debate, the big-mouthed mogul’s campaign said that Bill Clinton’s former mistress wouldn’t be in attendance.

“Gennifer Flowers will not be attending the debate tomorrow night,” Trump’s running mate Mike Pence said on “Fox News Sunday.” “Donald was using the tweet yesterday really to mock an effort by Hillary Clinton and her campaign to really distract attention from where the people, the American people, are going to be focused tomorrow night, which is on the issues, it’s on the choice that we face,” the GOP vice presidential candidate added, referencing Clinton’s own invitation to anti-Trump billionaire Mark Cuban.(Nydailynews.com)…[+]

Man, 20, in Custody After Fatal Shooting of 5 People at Mall Outside Seattle

A 20-year-old man was taken into custody on Saturday night in connection with a shooting that killed five people on Friday at a mall north of Seattle, the authorities said.

The authorities, speaking at a news conference on Saturday night, identified the suspect as Arcan Cetin of Oak Harbor, Wash. He was taken into custody without incident around 6:30 p.m. Officials said that they had received numerous tips about the gunman and that surveillance footage had helped locate him.

Lt. Michael Hawley of the Island County Sheriff’s Office said he had received a report that Mr. Cetin’s car was less than a mile from his office and when he headed that way, he found Mr. Cetin walking on the sidewalk. Mr. Cetin was carrying a satchel with a computer inside and was in a “zombielike” state when he was taken into custody, the lieutenant said.(nytimes.com)…[+]

Rarity of Tulsa Shooting: Female Officers Are Almost Never Involved

Betty Jo Shelby drew her gun and warned the man to stop walking. But Terence Crutcher continued moving toward his S.U.V., which he had left in the middle of the road, the driver’s side door open and the engine running. He was mumbling to himself, but his hands were raised in the air. Moments later, Officer Shelby fired a single shot, leaving Mr. Crutcher dead in the street. She told investigators she believed he had a weapon. But he was unarmed. Prosecutors indicted her on Thursday on a charge of first-degree manslaughter.(nytimes.com)…[+]

Tulsa officer surrenders on manslaughter charge

TULSA, Okla. — Less than a week after an unarmed black man was shot dead by a white police officer on a Tulsa street, prosecutors charged the officer with first-degree manslaughter, a decision that may prevent unrest in a city with a long history of tense race relations. Tulsa officer Betty Shelby “reacted unreasonably” when she fatally shot 40-year-old Terence Crutcher on Sept. 16, prosecutors wrote in an affidavit filed with the charge on Thursday. Police also acted quickly to provide videos of the shooting to black community leaders and members of Crutcher’s family and then released them to the public.(nypost.com)…[+]

Trump calls on Clinton to return donations from Anthony Weiner

Donald Trump’s campaign is calling on Hillary Clinton to return money it received from Anthony Weiner, the husband of the vice chair of the Clinton campaign.

“The announcement by the FBI and New York Police Department that they are investigating close Clinton ally Anthony Weiner’s inappropriate relationship with an under-aged female is extremely disturbing,” deputy communications director Jessica Ditto said in a statement released Thursday night. “The Clinton campaign should immediately return all campaign contributions from Weiner. America has had enough of the sleaze that is Clinton, Inc.,” she added.Weiner has given $550 to the Clinton campaign. The money was given in two separate donations on May 29, 2016 — one in the amount of $500 and another in the amount of $50 — according to Open Secrets.(nypost.com)…[+]

Airstrikes rattle Aleppo overnight, defy US call for peace

Warplanes mounted the heaviest airstrikes in months against rebel-held districts of the city of Aleppo overnight, as Russia and the Syrian government spurned a US plea to halt flights, burying any hope for a revival of a doomed cease-fire.

Rebel officials and rescue workers said incendiary bombs were among the weapons that rained from the sky on the city. Hamza al-Khatib, director of a hospital in the rebel-held east, told Reuters the death toll was 45. “It’s as if the planes are trying to compensate for all the days they didn’t drop bombs” during the cease-fire, Ammar al-Selmo, head of the civil defense rescue service in opposition-held eastern Aleppo, told Reuters.(nypost.com)…[+]

Charlotte under state of emergency after police-protests take bloody turn

The city of Charlotte mistakenly announced one person was killed during protests and has since issued a correction. A second night of police-protest rioting turned bloody in Charlotte, NC, on Wednesday, with one civilian on life support after being shot by another civilian. Officers in riot gear used tear gas and flash grenades in a tense standoff with a violent crowd one day after cops fatally shot Keith Lamont Scott, a father of seven, outside his condominium complex.

Gov. Pat McCrory — former longtime mayor of Charlotte — declared a state of emergency and deployed the National Guard to help assist local law enforcement. We cannot tolerate violence. We cannot tolerate the destruction of property and will not tolerate the attacks towards our police officers that are occurring right now, and I feel very strongly about that,” McCrory told CNN. “That is not the American way.”

Wednesday night’s victim was shot about 8 p.m. in front of the Omni Hotel. He was in critical condition, city officials said. They had not released his name by early Thursday.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department officials said no officers had fired their weapons Wednesday night.(nypost.com)…[+]

Hillary refuses to take neurocognitive test

Hillary Clinton won’t be taking a neurocognitive test, and releasing the results to the public — telling a reporter “there’s no need for that,” even after collapsing as she was leaving a 9/11 memorial event last week in Manhattan.

Clinton made the comment, suggesting she will not be releasing any further medical information this presidential campaign, in an interview Wednesday with Florida’s WFTS ABC Action News.

“Some doctors have said, because of your age, as well as your opponent’s age, that you could be at higher risk for dementia or even Alzheimer’s and have suggested that you take some neurocognitive test,” ABC affiliate reporter Sarina Fazina said to Clinton. “Would you be willing to do that?”(nypost.com)…[+]

Chelsea bombing is proof PC police stuck in pre-9/11 mindset

Some 15 long years after the horrors of 9/11, much of America remains trapped in a 9/10 mindset. The latest evidence involves the alleged bomber who wreaked havoc in New York and New Jersey last weekend.

The blood ran when the Chelsea blast injured 29 people, but now come reports that make the blood boil: The feds failed to connect the dots that might have prevented the weekend from hell. The reports reveal several critical facts, starting with the most important: The father of alleged bomber Ahmad Khan Rahami called law enforcement authorities in 2014 and said his son was a terrorist. The New Jersey police turned the information over to the FBI, and agents interviewed the father, the New York Times reports. But when the fatherrecanted his charge, the bureau apparently closed the case.(nypost.com)…[+]

Hillary spends $1 million more a day than Trump

Hillary Clinton and the Democratic Party spent $1 million a day more than her opponent Donald Trump and the Republican Party — even as her lead has slipped in the presidential race. The Clinton campaign and national Democratic Party spent $78 million in August, according to Federal Election Commission disclosures reviewed by the Associated Press. The Trump campaign and the Republican National Committee spent $47 million. The $31 million difference in spending between the two sides — and the 31 days in August — shows Clinton has walloped Trump in the spending department.(nypost.com)…[+]
