Burglars visit Paramaribo South-West DC’s Office…again

SURINAME – Burglars recently targeted the Office of the District Commissioner of Paramaribo South-West which is located along the Leysweg. Reports indicate that the burglars gained access to the building through the roof. Chinese Defense Ministry donates equipment to NL

SURINAME – The Chinese Defense Ministry on Thursday donated all-terrain vehicles (ATVs), water and oil tanks, a boat and a tower wagon to the National Army (NL). Man sentenced to nine years over deadly stabbing

SURINAME – SK will spent the next nine years in prison for having stabbed his wife to death with a knife. Judge Alida Johans indicated that there was strong evidence to prove that the defendant had stabbed his wife. The prosecutor had reportedly demanded that the defendant be sentenced to eighteen years in prison.  The judge pointed out that a witness had heard the suspect and the victim arguing with each other. Coronie candidates from PING did not vote for themselves

SURINAME – The two parliamentary candidates  who represented the Party for Integrity, National Motivation and Equal Opportunities (PING) in the Coronie District, Mark Cinal and Soelesman Ngadiman, did not vote for themselves. The party reportedly got zero votes for its parliamentary candidates in the Coronie District.  Cinal claims that he voted for the National Democratic Party (NDP) and that he knows that Ngadiman also voted for another party. ‘Masked’ robbers hit store at Latour

SURINAME –  Two ‘masked’ robbers  on Monday night robbed a store located at Latour. The two criminals who had covered their faces with a yellow t-shirt walked into the store and told the storekeeper to hand over all the money from the cash register. V7 parties free to negotiate with NDP

SURINAME – The member parties of the V7 bloc are free o negotiate individually with the National Democratic Party (NDP) when they receive an invitation to talks regarding a joint venture aimed at forming a government. The V7 leaders who are all on the same page regarding the issue reportedly reached this decision at a meeting on Monday.  “All of the parties within the V7 bloc are free to hold talks with other parties if they want to. CHS and OKB to address the nation next week

SURINAME – The Cnetral Main Voting Bureau (CHS) will announce the results of the general elections of 2015 at a public meeting next Monday.
