Brunswijk and Somohardjo warn elected candidates about NDP

BEP will not make separate decisions

SURINAME  – The chairman of the BEP party, Celsius Waterberg, on Wednesday pointed out that his party is not planning on making separate decisions within the V7 bloc. NDP reels in most seats in Sipaliwini District

SURINAME – The main voting bureau of the Sipaliwini District on Wednesday announced that Erwin Linga (1,652 votes) , Aida  Nading (461 votes) from the National Democratic Party (NDP), Rudolf Zeeman from V7 (1,091 votes) and  Dinotha Vorswijk from the AC (1,074 votes) are the new legislators who were elected by the voters from this district. The Sipaliwini District reportedly has 64 Area Council (RR) seats. The NDP reportedly reeled in 47 RR seats while the V7 bloc got 16. The AC only got 1 RR seat. “I find it awful that I am not allowed to vote”

SURINAME – “I find it awful that I am not allowed to vote. It is painful that I can’t choose my leader. I made a mistake by ending up in prison,” an inmate told Times of Suriname. Man arrested on arson charges

SURINAME – A 27-year-old man on Monday afternoon was arrested on arson charges. After the  suspect had set his house on fire, the neighbor’s house caught fire. The houses were located along the Nagriweg in the  Wanica District. Olton Pinas, spokesman of the Fire Department Suriname (KBS), told Times of Suriname that the KBS received the call around 15:13 and that the firefighters left the station within two minutes after having received the call. The anti-corruption bill will be passed before the end of this year, when the V7 government comes to power. Bouterse chooses Adhin as vice president
