Burglar spotted inside OW building

SURINAME – A man on Monday tried to burglarize the Ministry of Public Works (OW) located along the Mr Jagernath Lachmonstraat. New terms and conditions for billboard as of January 2015

SURINAME – People who want to erect billboards in Paramaribo will have to cover certain expenses. The District Commissioner of North East Paramaribo, Jerry Miranda, explained that this is a source of income to the State and mainly to the district. Minimum hour wage higher for stores, hotels and security companies

Man dies after stabbing incident

SURINAME – WA (41) on Monday night died at the Emergency Room on Monday night. Reports indicate that WA had been stabbed  in the face and in the chest that night at Santodorp. Po’ arrested on attempted murder and vandalism charge

SURINAME – A 58-year-old man who is known as ‘Po’ on Sunday was arrested at Jarikaba on an attempted murder and vandalism charge. Prison guard arrested

SURINAME – A prison guard who allegedly rendered his services to an inmate was arrested on Monday.

Paulus Pinas, deputy director at the Ministry of Justice and Police (Juspol), confirmed the arrest and told Times of Suriname that the arrest was made after a quantity of marihuana had been intercepted.
